And <strong>this lack of self-confidence is often what prevents them from daring to embark on a personal or professional transition.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-transform:none\">Expatriate spouses have very interesting backgrounds and experiences.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\"><strong>Yet they all have very interesting backgrounds<\/strong>: they\u2019ve had a wealth of experiences and developed many skills, especially through their lives as expatriate spouses. Just like you, I\u2019m sure, even if you think otherwise right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong>Probably that today, you too, you don\u2019t see your added value anymore.<\/strong> And you only see what you haven\u2019t done yet!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And that\u2019s logical! And why is that?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-transform:none\">The expat spouse\u2019s role is full of stereotypes, misunderstanding and lack of recognition.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Because <strong>when you took on the role of expatriate spouse, you found yourself with a strange label on your forehead that had, and probably still has, a big impact on your self-confidence.<\/strong> For years, you\u2019ve been seen as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The housewife who has a privileged life abroad (and who certainly has no right to complain)!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cThe wife of\u2026\u201d and\/or \u201cThe mother of\u2026\u201d, because no one really wants to know and understand who\u2019s behind your status as a spouse.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\"><strong>No one seem to be clearly aware of your key role<\/strong> in the success of your partner\u2019s and your family\u2019s expatriation. <strong>Your role is not valued at all, you\u2019re often misunderstood<\/strong>, and you feel isolated confronted with many challenges when trying to find your rightful place and your personal or professional balance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\"><strong>The result is that little by little, you too, begin to define yourself by this label, and you can\u2019t get away from it!<\/strong> This has an impact not only on your self-confidence, but on your self-esteem too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do you relate? If so, what can you do about it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-transform:none\">The key is to reconnect with your inner Captain.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As I said recently in the webinar I hosted for CoCreate Humanity (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=zMuxr1whj60\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here is the replay on Youtube in English<\/a>) : <strong>The key is to reconnect with your inner Captain, the one who has proved time and time again that you're a resourceful person!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">You may be wondering what I\u2019m talking about. <strong>But remember when you decided to leave your country, your job, your loved ones\u2026 you didn\u2019t take the easy way out, you made a courageous decision, you dared what the vast majority wouldn\u2019t!<\/strong> You chose to embark on an adventure despite the social, professional, and personal costs involved. You wanted to break out of your glass ceiling, to experience something new, different, and atypical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\"><strong>And from there, I bet you took charge of everything. You took on an essential role in all the logistical and family aspects, to guarantee the success of this expatriation and the well-being of the whole family, <\/strong>including your partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong>And for this, you have shown leadership, creativity, resilience, and many other skills.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong>What you need now is to reconnect with that part of you that has proven its ability to adapt and rise to challenges!<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How do you do this?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-transform:none\">How can you reconnect with this Captain and regain your self-confidence?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Start by taking stock of how satisfied you are today in all areas of your life. Also identifying your needs and how to meet them. And clarifying your desires, your values\u2026 <strong>revealing all your treasures:<\/strong> your experiences, your successes, your skills, your qualities, your strengths and all those pearls that have been slumbering inside you since you took on the role of accompanying spouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">By reconnecting to this part of yourself, <strong>you\u2019ll be able to draw on your own resources<\/strong>, and<strong> this is what will enable you to dare to take back the reins, to dare to relaunch yourself professionally, to dare to find your rightful place, the one you\u2019ve chosen and defined because it allows you to blossom and be happy, despite the challenges of your life as an expatriate spouse.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\"><strong>By reconnecting with your inner Captain, you\u2019ll regain your self-confidence!<\/strong> This is essential, because it\u2019s probably your lack of self-confidence that\u2019s your main obstacle to daring to fulfill your desires and needs, and to daring, if you so wish, to open a new professional chapter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">And don\u2019t forget that having confidence in yourself means inspiring others to have confidence in you! <strong>If you don\u2019t believe in yourself, who will? <\/strong>You need this self-confidence to realize the projects that are close to your heart!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Does it make sense to you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">This is the path I offer to all the expatriate spouses I accompany, and that\u2019s why I know how important it is.
